	Welcome to the US Military Liaison Mission Association

An Association of military and civilian veterans of the U.S. Military Liaison Mission (USMLM)

United States Military Liaison Mission to the Commander-in-Chief, Group of Soviet Forces, Germany (USMLM to CinC, GSFG), later changed to Western Group of Forces (WGF). USMLM representational headquarters was located in Potsdam, East Germany (DDR), with Operational & Administrative Headquarters in West Berlin, Germany. US Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps personnel served proudly in the USMLM.		The US Military Liaison Mission was established on 7 April 1947, subsequent to the signing of the US/Soviet Huebner-Malinin Agreement in March 1947. The unit took down its colors on October 1, 1990, in Potsdam, Germany, as directed by the JCS as a consequence of the end of the Cold War. Eric I. Weisel passed away September 2007. Our sincere condolences to the family.
Henry Dombrowski passed on 5 February 2008. Henry was one of the earliest members of USMLM serving circa 1948-1950. Buried at Arlington National Cemetery
17 April 2008.

BERLIN. -- In the dead of night, lights flashed on and the Star Spangled Banner boomed out. Several thousand Soviet soldiers bolted awake in their barracks nearby.

It was 1:20 a.m. and one of the most unusual flag - raising ceremonies in the postwar history of the United States military in Europe was taking place at Potsdam in Communist East Germany.
